Sizes and Diploma Content
There are two diploma sizes. Students receiving a bachelor’s, master’s, educational specialist degree or a certificate will receive an 8 ½ by 11-inch diploma. Students receiving a doctorate will receive a 13 by 17-inch diploma. All diplomas are printed as portrait style.

Current Graduate Information
It can take approximately 6 – 8 weeks post commencement for diplomas to be printed and mailed through USPS.
For your reference, please see the estimated times for when your diploma will either arrive to you, or to our office for you to pick up.
- Fall Graduates: Late January – mid March
- Spring Graduates: Late June – early August
- Summer Graduates: Late August – mid October
In addition to your printed diploma and/or certificates, once your diploma is mailed, you will receive an email from our vendor Paradigm, which contains a link where you can purchase an electronic copy of your credentials. Additional information regarding electronic diplomas, can be found here.
If you have an outstanding balance, your diploma will be held until the hold is lifted from your account by the Cashiers Office.
This process also takes approximately 6 – 8 weeks post commencement. You will receive an email through your student email when your diploma is ready to be picked up. If it is not picked up by the deadline stated in the email you receive, it will be mailed.
This is dependent on the address provided on your graduation application. You can change your diploma address through myZou by selecting the ‘View Graduation Status’ menu. The deadline for making this change is the same as the last date to withdrawal from the term. This date can be found in the Academic Calendar.
Yes, this is an option for any student. However, before placing your order, confirm with the Office of the University Registrar that your diploma has not yet been mailed.
To request this action, you will need to place a prepaid shipping order through eShip Global. Please see below instructions for ordering:
- Go to study.eshipglobal.com.
- Click the Student sign up button under the “students” section and create your account, username and password.
- Choose “Receive a Package from Universities”
- Select the state of Missouri from the drop-down box.
- Select “University of Missouri-Columbia” from the list of schools and hit Continue.
- Select “Records/Transcripts/Diploma” and hit Continue.
- Complete the rest of the information (your mailing address and credit card information) to have your documents sent.
Please pay close attention to the information submitted, as errors in the credit card information or submitting incorrect or incomplete address information will result in a delay in the mailing of your documents. If you experience any difficulty in registering and processing the shipment, use the “Help” link in the site for step-by-step instructions.
